TERMS & CONDITIONS – HOSPICE BANGLADESH

These Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) constitute a legally binding agreement between Hospice Bangladesh (“the Company”) and the Patient and/or Responsible Party (“Patient Party”). 

By accessing or using any services provided by the Company—including Inpatient Care, Home Care, Telehealth, Diagnostic Services, and Pharmacy—you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. 

The Company reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be effective immediately upon publication. The Patient Party is responsible for reviewing the Terms periodically. 

 

  1. General Principles & Conduct

1.1 Mutual Respect 

Hospice Bangladesh is committed to delivering compassionate, respectful care. The Patient Party agrees to treat all staff with courtesy and professionalism.
The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate services immediately in cases of abuse, threatening, or inappropriate behavior. 

1.2 Privacy & Confidentiality 

Both parties agree to maintain strict confidentiality of all medical and personal information, in accordance with applicable laws and ethical standards. 

1.3 Service Termination 

For ongoing or recurring services, either party may discontinue services with a minimum 24-hour prior notice, unless otherwise specified. 

 

  1. Inpatient Services

2.1 Billing 

  • Inpatient charges are calculated on a 24-hour cycle (12:00 PM to 12:00 PM). 
  • Partial-day stays may be charged as full billing cycles unless otherwise stated. 

2.2 Rates & Charges 

  • Cabin rates and service charges are subject to periodic updates. 
  • Consultation fees are charged separately based on individual consultant categories. 

2.3 Clinical Limitations 

  • Hospice Bangladesh Center does not operate an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). 
  • If ICU-level care is required, the patient may be referred to an appropriate facility with family consent. 

2.4 Additional Services 

  • Day-care, outpatient services, transport, meals, and specialized consumables (e.g., wound care, lymphedema care) are billed separately. 

 

  1. Home Health Services

3.1 Scope of Care 

Home-based services are delivered by trained hospice staff under clinical supervision. 

3.2 Clinical Responsibility 

Due to the unpredictable and progressive nature of advanced and terminal illnesses, Hospice Bangladesh is not liable for disease progression or natural clinical deterioration. 

3.3 Care Coordination 

  • The hospice team collaborates with the patient’s Primary Physician where applicable. 
  • Clinical decisions may involve consultation with Hospice specialists. 

3.4 Staff Role & Security 

  • Staff will perform only authorized clinical and supportive tasks. 
  • Hospice Bangladesh ensures professional conduct but is not responsible for unrelated household matters or external risks. 

 

  1. Hybrid Tele-Hospice Services

4.1 Subscription & Payment 

  • All telehealth packages must be paid in advance via approved payment methods. 
  • All subscription payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

4.3 Limitations 

Telehealth services support remote care but do not replace emergency or in-person clinical interventions. 

 

  1. On-Demand Clinical Services

5.1 Medical Risk Disclaimer 

All clinical procedures carry inherent risks. Hospice Bangladesh shall not be held liable for unforeseen complications or adverse outcomes, except in cases of proven negligence. 

5.2 Failed Attempts 

If a procedure (e.g., IV cannulation, catheterization, NGT insertion) is attempted but unsuccessful, 50% of the service fee will be applicable. 

5.3 Emergency Requests 

Urgent or after-hours requests may incur additional emergency service charges. 

 

  1. Diagnostic Laboratory & Pharmacy

6.1 Diagnostic Services 

  • 100% advance payment is required for all diagnostic tests. 
  • Cancellation policy:  
  • Before sample collection: refund issued with 10% deduction. 
  • After phlebotomist arrival: no refund applicable. 

6.2 Pharmacy Services 

  • Orders are subject to availability and price confirmation. 
  • All medicines and healthcare products are non-returnable and non-exchangeable, except in cases of verified manufacturing defects reported at delivery. 
  • Unpaid orders will be automatically cancelled after 24 hours. 

 

  1. Ambulance Services

7.1 Charges 

  • Distance Rate: ৳ 200 per kilometer 
  • Oxygen Use: ৳ 200 (fixed) 
  • Manual Handling (stairs): ৳ 150 per floor 

7.2 Cancellation Policy 

  • Cancellation before dispatch: ৳ 1,000 deduction from advance payment. 

7.3 Liability Disclaimer 

Hospice Bangladesh is not liable for delays, accidents, or losses occurring during transport, including those caused by traffic or external factors beyond control.
